MindofModernMan Star Wars Fan Panel – Favorite Star Wars Vehicles

Welcome to Star Wars Saturdays! Our Star Wars Fan Panel – a group of big time Star Wars fans – has gathered to talk all things from a Galaxy Far Far Away!

On Saturdays we share our thoughts on ranking anything and everything in the Star Wars galaxy! What makes us different? We vote with our hearts. Our lists are our top FAVORITE things about each Star Wars category. We believe there are already too many critical lists, artistry lists, film making lists… yadda yadda… we are simply talking about our FAVORITES – as all fans do.

Our merry band of rebel fans are:

This week – 10 of us focused on how our favorite characters in the Star Wars Universe get from point A to point B. We nominated over 25 different vehicles.

When you don’t have to worry about roads, you can really create some AMAZING vehicles in a galaxy far far away. Some were easy to come up with, and there are some very cool ‘deep dive’ choices too.

See our cumulative list below and then please hit the comments to share yours.

I’d pretty much LOVE to own any single one of these in real life. I’m pretty sure I owned most of the toys. Never the Falcon though – it always alluded me. I saw LEGO is coming out with a Razor Crest though!

Of course the pilots and crew of many of these are tied hand in hand. You can’t think of the Falcon without Chewbacca (no matter who is in the pilot seat: Han, Lando, Poe, Rey…). Luke and Poe with their special X-Wings (and Wedge and JEK PORKINS of course). Slave I with Boba Fett or the Razor Crest with Mando and Baby Yoda.

Going starship shopping? Your bargain is to grab a few Speeder Bikes for 3,000 credits each. Snowspeeders come in at 18,000 credits (but you need snow). You can get a TIE Fighter for 60,000 credits (25,000 used) or the Razor Crest for approximately 62,000 credits. Your big ticket items start with the Millennium Falcon at 100,000 credits (or a good hand in Sabacc), Slave I has a 125,650 credit price tag while the Ghost is around 155,000 credits. The most expensive is an X-Wing Fighter which costs 150,000 credits meaning it’s just poor money management leaving it at the bottom of the sea. If you win the Galactic Lottery, looking into investing 150,000,000 credits on an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Need to get somewhere fast? The Falcon and TIE Fighters can get up to 1,200 kph (although the Falcon has hyperspeed and most TIEs don’t.). Snowspeeders can get up to 1,100 kph with the X-Wing right behind it at 1,050 kph. The Ghost clocks in at 1,025 kph with Slave I hot on its heels at 1,000 kph. The Star Destroyer hits 975 kph, Mando is cruising around 950 kph in the Razor Crest and your 3,000 credit speeder bikes will thrill you at 500 kph.

The Just Missed List:
Death Star 1.60
Imperial Shuttle 1.60
Tie Interceptor 1.50
Naboo Starfighter 1.00
Tantive IV 1.00

The other vehicles we nominated: Tie Silencer, Y-Wing, Podracers, Land Speeder, Grievous’ Wheel Bike, Rey’s Sand Speeder Bike, Jawa Sandcrawler, AT-ST (Chicken Walker), Sith Infiltrator (Maul’s ship), Khetanna (Sail Barge), The Child’s floating pram and a Naboo Bongo Submarine.

17 of these vehicles first showed up in the Original Trilogy while 5 came from the Prequels. Disney Era gave us 2 and 3 came from Star War TV.

What’s your order? Which are your favorites in the Star Wars Universe? What didn’t make our list as a glaring mistake in your eyes? How did the Millennium Falcon not get unanimous #1? Would you rather fly and X-Wing or Razor Crest? Why no love for the A-Wing, U-Wing, or B-Wing Bombers?

Hit the comments and let us know. Or head over to our Instagram Page and hit us up there, too!

On behalf of the Star Wars Fan Panel, thank you for reading and we’ll see you next time for another Star Wars Saturday.

Cheers!
Keith
